Freesat boxes are available in both standard definition and high definition. Also available are the Freesat plus boxes which allow you to record.
Freesat standard boxes simply require one connection from your satellite dish and they plug in to your TV by a scart lead.
These are the most basic boxes and they provide a standard definition picture. ideal for older televisions or for bedrooms.
Freesat HD boxes require one connection from your satellite dish and they plug in to your TV by a hdmi lead.
These boxes provide you with a high definition picture (HD) on the channels which broadcast a HD picture. This includes BBC, ITV and more. This is great for bigger televisions where you will benifit the most from high definition picture.
Freesat HD plus boxes require two connections from your satellite dish and they plug in to your TV by a hdmi lead.
These boxes will give you all the features of the Freesat HD box. However, you will now be able to record one programme and watch another. You can pause live TV and record two different programmes while watching a pre recorded programme. This is ideal for your main TV room.
