The main types of community satellite TV systems are outlined below. From Terrestrial TV (MATV & SMATV) To Satellite TV. We can also install analogue or newer digital systems including digital high definition!
Pre-Installed
In the pre-installed satellite TV systems every apartment in the community will be wired up to the satellite TV system.
All the owner of the apartment will need is their own satellite decoder. This system will cost the community or developer the most to be installed, however the benefits will be the fact that the satellite TV is ready to use and will add significant value to the property.
This type of system is usually installed in new developments with the view of increased value to increase sales. It can however be installed in any community.
Infrastructure
The second most popular satellite TV system is where we can install all of the equipment for the satellite TV system when required.
Then once someone would like a connection we can connect them to the community satellite TV system.
This system is the cheapest option for the community or developer. The installation costs are a lot cheaper as we make our money from the connections. The only conditions are that we are the only company allowed to do the connections. The connection prices vary but are cheaper than the client having to buy their own satellite dish system.
SMATV Satellite Master TV System
This system has both terrestrial TV and satellite channels in the head end. This is then piped around the community.
In the apartments all the TV’s can be tuned in without the need for extra receivers.
This can be done via analogue, cheapest option. Or we can use digital. If we use digital you can have the option for standard or high definition.
MATV Master TV System
This system has only terrestrial TV.
This is then piped around the community. In the apartments all the TV’s can be tuned in without the need for extra receivers.
Please note that analogue transmissions have now been terminated.
If your TV does not have a digital tuner you will need a separate digital terrestrial receiver (TDT) or a new TV that has a digital tuner built in.
